How do I submit my work?

Our submission forms are all linked here. Make sure to read over our submission guidelines on our Literature Submissions and Art Submissions pages!

When will I get updates on my submission?

You can expect to hear from us within 1-2 months of submitting your piece. We will reach you via the email you provide on the submission form.

Is there a submission fee?

Nope, submissions are completely free and currently open. We are dedicated to making writing & publishing accessible for youth.

Will I be paid for my piece? What do I get out of submitting?

For Issue V, there is no monetary prize for submissions. If accepted for publishing, your work will be listed by an internationally recognized press and you may put this achievement on your resumé or awards section.

Is there an age limit?

We accept pieces from writers ages 13 to 22; however, we can be flexible with this limit. Send us a DM on Instagram @thediamondgazette or email us at diamondgazette1@gmail.com if you have more questions about this.

Will I keep the rights of my submitted piece if accepted?

Yes, you will retain the rights to your piece, just let us know where the piece was published previously so we can credit them as well. Your writing is also still eligible for submission and publication if you have been previously published in Diamond Gazette.

When will issues be published?

Ideally we would like to release around four issues per year, one for each season, but this number could change with the amount of submissions we receive.

Can I submit _____?

We are open to works of literature and art as long as they follow the guidelines and are original. Refer to our Submissions pages for guidelines, and feel free to explore our past issues to get an idea of what we look for!

What is a third-person bio?

These short author bios should include your name, fun facts, and/or more info. This will be attached alongside your name in a magazine published piece. Example:

Jane Doe is a poet and artist from the United States. Her favorite authors include Homer, Plato, and Sophocles. In her free time, she enjoys making pottery. You can find her on Instagram @username.
Can I submit under a pen name?

If that is what you are comfortable with, then yes, however, we strongly suggest including your legal name in the submission form in order to claim authorship of the piece if needed. This information will be kept confidential.
